Why do People always tell you, that you live in the passed when you bring up wonderful memories in your Life!

First, I don't want you to get me wrong, I am very happy with the wonderful Wife "Qing" where the Love just couldn't be any greater by no means!

Remembering "Nancy" is as natural as waking up every morning. After all, we did spend almost 30 years married together. That creates an aweful lot's of memories, from the first day we met to the last day... holding her in my arms as she took her final breath.

So here, I've gone back some of those steps.

This Apartment (well it was in better shape then) as you see, was ours for about 3 years from '77-'80. Left to right you see, MasterBedroom window-Bathroom-Kitchen and Dinning window. Yes, it's been that long ago; but I remember it like it was yesterday.

#12...here, while staying there we got married 05-06-78

When I first met Nancy ( 02-03-77), she lived with a friend during  the time she worked at Glendale Federal Bank. The same Bank, I told her that I had leased the above Apartment for us. She had only one room in this house. I wanted for us to be together and have our own, so after 2 month of us visiting each other's place, I surprised her at her work and told her I had found a place for both of us and her Son "Gary".

So, during the next 3 years we did a lot of Traveling-Camping with our VW Camper...criss-crossing the States many times.

..to be continued.

SPECIAL DAY TODAY!

Today, the 9th of May is when Qing and I went to the Shanghai Registry in 2008 to tie the Knot...get married in other words. Looking back, to think we had only met in Person two days and to go forward and decide such Life changing event for both of us.

For those that have not kept up with my Blog, it's not what it looks...haha!

We actually first made contact on Nov. 27 2007 on the Chinese Dating Site "Chnlove". So you see we had plenty of time writing back and forth and get to know each other really well, before I flew to Shanghai on May 6th 2008. That date of course was also very special to me, as Me and my late Wife "Nancy" got married 30 years ago on May 6th 1978.

So, finally meeting on May 7th 2008 at Pudong Internation Airport in Shanghai...wasn't like we just met and married. I had picked that date to fly to meet Qing, not only for that reason...but because it was also Nancy's and Mine 30th Anniversary. You might laugh, but I wanted to be way up in the sky to be closer to Nancy in a sense. Not to confuse you, I did have those Ticket's for China months before I first met Qing. How all this gone down, we will see in my Book that is 3/4 complete." Two Encounters with "True Love"!

Anyway, this is "Our" 11th Anniversary now! Now, we are looking forward to the next 11 years...as our Love for each other is stonger than ever!

Dreams, what are they exactly?

As the Title suggests, I will be talking about your everyday nightly dreams while asleep. You may agree, that some are normal from everyday living...but other's are scary at times that wake you up shacking or even screaming.

I like to talk about the one I had last night.

On Sunday's, Qing usually work over night and I sleep by myself. All seemed normal, until I awoke sometime around 5 am. I went to the Restroom and back to bed to get another couple hours of sleep, til Qing came home.

I had no trouble falling back sound asleep and that is when a average dream was anything but average. I was dreaming that my Toyota Truck with 624,000 miles on it, needed some work. I remember I was in a shop at that time, but wasn't working on my own Truck this time. Which was strange itself, hence I am (was-retired) Mechanic by Trade. Looking at my Truck being worked on, the Shop phone started to ring. I was close to it while it rang, but don't really know why I answered it instead the shop owner? I said "Hello"... this is were it got strange. On the other line was my "Mom" (that had passed away not to long ago)! I recognized her voice perfectly, like she was standing right next to me. To make it even more starnge, she say's "It's me and I'm alive"!

I awoke at that moment; it came to me right away, how is this possible?  It was somewhat worrying! Most likely you have heard that when People are near Death, often see or get a visit from a passed relative to comfort them.

Not that I'm in bad health or anything, but after I told Qing... she agreed with my very thought! My Mom didn't had time or that was all she wanted to say, as I awoke startled just hearing her voice.

So, what do I make of this? Do I now have to be more aware of everything around me, or just take good or better care of myself? Is my Truck being worked on has some hidden meaning, like It was in an Accident? Don't know either, but makes you think...doesn't it?

It was nice hearing my Mom's voice though, maybe it was just to let me know..she's fine and in Heaven I certainly hope so!

What am I doing?

First of all, I like to wish everybody reading my Blog a "Happy New Year" to you all!

I did wanted to write about this for a while now, but never got to it until today.
As I am now retired and Qing is working 40-60 hours a week, I am given the Cooking Job more and more. Not that I don't want it, it's not about having to do it...I want to do it. People that know me well, know that Cooking is/was not my forte.
Anyhow, over the last years I must say...I've become quite a Cook (not quite a Chef yet) that I am not ashamed to say.
I.ve always done Breakfast with no problem, but Dinner is a little more challenging. Here today I have taken a few photo's what Qing can expect to be served with Scalloped Potatoes-Califlower steamed- Spinach salad and "Cajon Honey" stuffed shrimp.

Ps: stuffing includes Emeril's "BAM"-New Orleans Cajon Seasoning-Honey-Lemon Juice-mixure of Cream Cheese...Honey...Califlower...Parmeson Cheese and topped of with Cheddar Cheese.
I'm ignoring this sign from now on!

Mov'in on...

As my earlier Post showed, I am soon coming to the end of my Project front yard.

It is looking great and to second that fact, are most my Neighbors that think that I did an excellent Job.

Here are some of the new Photo's!

Of course on the last photo my Bird is also making sure all is up to par!

The Project is moving along!

Like I've mentioned before, I'm quite busy working on the the final section of my front yard. 95% of the last grass is out and just yesterday and today finished the re-routed sprinkler system, to only two down from twelve heads. Overall, I cut my watering from six stations to two and a half. One with soaker hoses and two regular 12 head system. Saving already about $40 off my waterbill and now with this last part even more.
Here are a few photo's from my project.

Oh..it's been quite some time?

Well..well, almost forget I have a Blog still going.

Anyhow, everything is going just great with Qing and Myself. Say...going on 11 years already being spoilt by my better half. I've been so busy last couple years improving our yard (both sides of house and front too). Taken now most of the Grass out for Pavers-Concrete-Rock and Plants. Come to think of it, for a 65 yr. old guy, I am working like I was in my 30's...lol.

One sad thing though, is that all this put my Book on the Back-Burner for now. I did complete up to Chapter 7, where I have met Qing already for the first time, including her Parents and Brother. But haven't gotten to our Marriage yet (Registry), which happened one the 2nd. day coming to meet my future LaoPo. So actually, the fun part of the Book is still to come. I'll get to it as soon I've done the necessary work out doors.
