.... Belt!
Tianchi has been going to a Karate class for three months now and moved up to the next step (belt).. the Yellow Belt.
For someone that has pretty much never exercised in his young life, now has shown a lot of improvement... what flexability concerns. We talking even doing one (1) push-up was almost impossible for him. Now he does 15 with little effort. But, we do have to push him to "Practice" on a regular schedule each day.
Being a Yellow Belt, he now will encounter "One on One" sparring with protective gear worn each time.
Funny, when Tianchi first found out about this... He says to his Mom; "You are teaching me how to Fight"! When it should have been; "I am learning to protect yourself"! I'm sure that he will soon see, that Karate is not just about Fighting and actually so much more.

I'm surprised you have him in Japanese Karate rather than Chinese GongFu/Kung Fu.
ReplyDelete...well, I myself like Kung Fu better, but this class is one mile from my house. Besides, I know the Teacher quite well.
