...sorry, but I'll continue where I had left off after Part5 on the earlier Posts later.

I'm somewhat sad today, thinking that I might have lost my Chinese Sister "LILY" from Kunming. After I'd written her twice by E-Mail, I did not get a reply back for months now. I hope she's is ok, especially hence her Father was in somewhat poor health the last time I had contact with her?
It just hurts my heart if she'd lost her Dad too so soon after her Mom passed away.

So here I will post one of the most BEAUTIFUL and heart-warming letter I have ever received from my Lily.

Guy's , this is what flower's can do !

  1. Since I knew that this week is Qing/Ming Festival week , I thought about my poor Lily and her Family , loosing her Mom , not to long ago . Why not send her some Lily's for her to put on her Mom's grave . This is a small token for how much I care for my Mei Mei , but as you all can see , it is much much more than that , being done out of Love for another Person , that show's the same kind of Love toward's me and Qing . There is only one word to discribe this feeling .....
    WONDERFUL .

part 5...

Now at my Boss's house we lived for exactly 10 years and it was a wonderful time having this large 3 Bedroom house with a good size backyard. Talking about the backyard; what I remember most...is the LUAU we had for about 40 people or close to it, including my Cousin and his Wife from German that happen to be here on Vacation. To tease my Neighbor (not that I wanted to), we had a Whole Pig roasting all day over a rented BBQ pit. We just couldn't keep all that good smell in our yard...lol. I remember even building a Hawaiian shack complete with Palm and Banana leaves, that I used as a Bar. Gone out got some Hawaiian records and let the LIMBO start. Well, how low can you go? That contest was actually won by my Cousin and I'm guessing it was no more than 12 inches from the ground. I didn't know, they pratice the Limbo in Germany?

So, after the 10 years were up, my Boss wanted to sell the House and move back to Austria. He wanted us to buy it, but the $ 25,000 dollars down we could not come up with that kind of Cash at the time. Which meant, we once again had to look for another place and get ready to move one more time.

The looking didn't take too long, as we found a rental House only a few miles from my work. The only problem facing us there, was it was only a 2 Bedroom home with a good size backyard also. Well, you got to do what you have to do...no more over-look of the Valley anymore at night.

Here is the House, in which we stayed only 2 years. The reason, small AC unit and all it cooled was the living room. Way to hot in the summer month's, where we sleeped often on the living room floor on Sleeping bags.
The photo doesn't show as we seen it, because they had turned the Garage into a room and moved the driveway over to the left. Lousy Job... whoever did the modifying for sure.

...part 4

So married now and wanting a bigger nicer place to live, because Canoga Park wasn't really the safest place to live anymore. Twice, someone had to call Police because; once, because they found someone had OD'd in one of the Apartments- second, one early morning the was actual shootings from one Apartment building towards another in a Gang fight. That was that told us, we need to get out of here.

Lucky for us, there was no need to look for long. My Ex-Boss was moving into a new House and put up his old one up for Lease. So, knowing him well...we had first choice of course. It was perfect for us, a beautiful 1300 sq foot home on top of a hill overlooking the whole San Fernando Valley. Plus with a Fireplace in the Living room. What made this such an easy choice, was the price was about the same as the place we left. So this was the first of our five (5) moves we make together.

part 3...

One year after moving in together, we'd decided that it was time we get married. We picked a date (05-06-1978), not knowing how easy it would be to remember it later when Anniversaries come around. You see...5-6-78...!

Here is the Little Church that be had picked out to have the Wedding at. There weren't kidding with the name "Little" as one can see in the Photo's below.

...at the time, there was only a Parking Lot right of the Church...not this nice looking Building that is standing there now. Makes the Church really look it's name...lol.

...part 2

Just wanted to add, where I had lived at the time me and Nancy met. To my surprise as I was to find out years later, I was living right next to the Granada Hills High School (Football Field) and encountered lot's of noise on weekends from there. Little did I know, that is exactly where "John Elway" was playing as QB to start his great Career. No wonder it was always that loud!

My first 1-Bedroom apartment is right next to #32 (not sure anymore if mine was 31 or 33). What I do remember, Nancy used to bring me Home-Cooked meals she prepared at her Friends house only to carry them to my place. How sweet was that?

...to be continued.
Why do People always tell you, that you live in the passed when you bring up wonderful memories in your Life!

First, I don't want you to get me wrong, I am very happy with the wonderful Wife "Qing" where the Love just couldn't be any greater by no means!

Remembering "Nancy" is as natural as waking up every morning. After all, we did spend almost 30 years married together. That creates an aweful lot's of memories, from the first day we met to the last day... holding her in my arms as she took her final breath.

So here, I've gone back some of those steps.

This Apartment (well it was in better shape then) as you see, was ours for about 3 years from '77-'80. Left to right you see, MasterBedroom window-Bathroom-Kitchen and Dinning window. Yes, it's been that long ago; but I remember it like it was yesterday.

#12...here, while staying there we got married 05-06-78

When I first met Nancy ( 02-03-77), she lived with a friend during  the time she worked at Glendale Federal Bank. The same Bank, I told her that I had leased the above Apartment for us. She had only one room in this house. I wanted for us to be together and have our own, so after 2 month of us visiting each other's place, I surprised her at her work and told her I had found a place for both of us and her Son "Gary".

So, during the next 3 years we did a lot of Traveling-Camping with our VW Camper...criss-crossing the States many times.

..to be continued.

SPECIAL DAY TODAY!

Today, the 9th of May is when Qing and I went to the Shanghai Registry in 2008 to tie the Knot...get married in other words. Looking back, to think we had only met in Person two days and to go forward and decide such Life changing event for both of us.

For those that have not kept up with my Blog, it's not what it looks...haha!

We actually first made contact on Nov. 27 2007 on the Chinese Dating Site "Chnlove". So you see we had plenty of time writing back and forth and get to know each other really well, before I flew to Shanghai on May 6th 2008. That date of course was also very special to me, as Me and my late Wife "Nancy" got married 30 years ago on May 6th 1978.

So, finally meeting on May 7th 2008 at Pudong Internation Airport in Shanghai...wasn't like we just met and married. I had picked that date to fly to meet Qing, not only for that reason...but because it was also Nancy's and Mine 30th Anniversary. You might laugh, but I wanted to be way up in the sky to be closer to Nancy in a sense. Not to confuse you, I did have those Ticket's for China months before I first met Qing. How all this gone down, we will see in my Book that is 3/4 complete." Two Encounters with "True Love"!

Anyway, this is "Our" 11th Anniversary now! Now, we are looking forward to the next 11 years...as our Love for each other is stonger than ever!

Dreams, what are they exactly?

As the Title suggests, I will be talking about your everyday nightly dreams while asleep. You may agree, that some are normal from everyday living...but other's are scary at times that wake you up shacking or even screaming.

I like to talk about the one I had last night.

On Sunday's, Qing usually work over night and I sleep by myself. All seemed normal, until I awoke sometime around 5 am. I went to the Restroom and back to bed to get another couple hours of sleep, til Qing came home.

I had no trouble falling back sound asleep and that is when a average dream was anything but average. I was dreaming that my Toyota Truck with 624,000 miles on it, needed some work. I remember I was in a shop at that time, but wasn't working on my own Truck this time. Which was strange itself, hence I am (was-retired) Mechanic by Trade. Looking at my Truck being worked on, the Shop phone started to ring. I was close to it while it rang, but don't really know why I answered it instead the shop owner? I said "Hello"... this is were it got strange. On the other line was my "Mom" (that had passed away not to long ago)! I recognized her voice perfectly, like she was standing right next to me. To make it even more starnge, she say's "It's me and I'm alive"!

I awoke at that moment; it came to me right away, how is this possible?  It was somewhat worrying! Most likely you have heard that when People are near Death, often see or get a visit from a passed relative to comfort them.

Not that I'm in bad health or anything, but after I told Qing... she agreed with my very thought! My Mom didn't had time or that was all she wanted to say, as I awoke startled just hearing her voice.

So, what do I make of this? Do I now have to be more aware of everything around me, or just take good or better care of myself? Is my Truck being worked on has some hidden meaning, like It was in an Accident? Don't know either, but makes you think...doesn't it?

It was nice hearing my Mom's voice though, maybe it was just to let me know..she's fine and in Heaven I certainly hope so!

What am I doing?

First of all, I like to wish everybody reading my Blog a "Happy New Year" to you all!

I did wanted to write about this for a while now, but never got to it until today.
As I am now retired and Qing is working 40-60 hours a week, I am given the Cooking Job more and more. Not that I don't want it, it's not about having to do it...I want to do it. People that know me well, know that Cooking is/was not my forte.
Anyhow, over the last years I must say...I've become quite a Cook (not quite a Chef yet) that I am not ashamed to say.
I.ve always done Breakfast with no problem, but Dinner is a little more challenging. Here today I have taken a few photo's what Qing can expect to be served with Scalloped Potatoes-Califlower steamed- Spinach salad and "Cajon Honey" stuffed shrimp.

Ps: stuffing includes Emeril's "BAM"-New Orleans Cajon Seasoning-Honey-Lemon Juice-mixure of Cream Cheese...Honey...Califlower...Parmeson Cheese and topped of with Cheddar Cheese.
I'm ignoring this sign from now on!
