AS ONE OF MY FRIENDS ASK ME THIS ?

Food and eating habit's of my LaoPo .

Being here with me now for a little more than five month's , what does she eat and how does she eat it . Coming here to America , she did have plenty of western ways under her Belt already . Shanghai and Tokyo to mention a few places to pick up some of those .. maybe not always nice customs/ways of living in the west . As I have mentioned previously in other Posts , the Food part is what worried me the most . To me , eating Chinese Food's (we find here) most of the time .. would not bother me at all . But my Sweetheart , who's been growing up with .. let's say 90% Chinese Food . How will she adopt to .. example " Potatoes " instead of Rice ? Not to mention " Cheese " , which they seem not to eat too much of in China from what I have experienced on my Trips there . Well , to my surprise .. Qing loves the Foods of America , Germany and Mexico (not fast Foods) . By that I mean " MY " cooking at Home . This is something we do together many times , especially on the weekend . From Steak , Fish (without Bone) , Potatoes ( mashed , fried with onions to Baked with all the toppings ) . From Beans of all sorts to Menudo , Burrito and Tacos to German Dumplings and Red Cabbage to Sauerkraut .
I tell you , I'm am so glad .. I don't have a picky Wife . I'm also sure , the same goes for Qing .. not having a LaoGong that is like .. uuhhhh what is that ???
Now , we do eat all Chinese Foods with Chopsticks of course . She is more comfortable and I need the practice . Fork and Knife is the must with the rest of Local dishes .
One more thing , I like to mention here . I myself was never much of a Chef or had great experience in the Kitchen or on the Grill , but now doing it with my LaoPo it is special to me and I enjoy it sooo much . Even started to Bake together , which is even more Fun and one can eat that too .
It makes it so easy for us to adjust ( specially Her ) to the new Life we have cut out for ourselves . One can concentrate on other more important things like learning to drive a Car and maybe a Job in the near Future for Qing , to get her out of the House more often . It does get pretty lonely at Home by yourself all day . It would get to me and I know it does to her .

Just an Up-date about Lily , my chinese Sister .

As Qing gets settled here in the States , I still write many letter's to my new found " Sister " in Kunming .. southern part of China . As we go back further then Qing and I am very lucky to have found such a wonderful but lonely Friend in Lily . Lonely I say , because I've been looking for a kind Guy / Person for Her for over one year now . At 51 and no children , being on Chnlove now for some two years without much luck .. expect some Jerks writing for months and promising everything and only to stop writing suddenly for no apparent reason . Qing knows about Lily of course and is also considering Her a Sister , even never having actually met her . Which of course goes for me also . But , I like to include here one of her last Letter to me . It really breaks my Heart , that this wonderful Lady has not found her soul-mate yet . As one can tell , her writing show a lot of care and love .

I have been think of you,although i have not write to you for long time,but you and your wife Qing are still in my thought.
GeGe,thank you so much for care,and i feel i am a very lucky person in the would,because i knewing a such kind and considerate person like you,my Ge Ge.You make me very moved.Yes i and my family are very pain,because of the Qingming Festival.
GeGe,do you know that i have no any brother in my family,but in fact no matter where in my mind or heart you have been as my Ge Ge in my life,so i think that my life from the addition of a supporter,right?!I am very fortunate and appreciate the concern you have,and do not forget me,sister,thank you again,GeGe!Yes,we,especially my father do need time to comfort the pain of losing loved one.We are all(my family) very grateful for your care.

It almost brings me to tears , with each letter I receive .. knowing this Woman's Love is not appreciated by other Men .

THIS WEEKEND , WE HAD A NICE SURPRISE .

Well , I would definitely say ... it was a strange and unusual surprise for Qing and Myself . After Breakfast at Home this Saturday , I had gone and dropped Qing off to have her Hair Permed . Then .. I was to go to the Post Office and pick up a large Package , which was to be some clothes for Qing her Mom send off some time ago . Picked it up without opening it though . I was going to wait till Qings Hair was done . So I had some time on my hands , as a perm will take about two hours . I went and had my Hair cut too , but at a different place and on the other side of Town . Running around and the Summer Cut took about just two hours myself . Good timing also . We went eagerly home to see what the Package contends were . Let me tell you it was a heavy Box and there were NO clothes inside , but a 12 piece Dinner Set of some really fine Porcelain . To our surprise , it wasn't even from China . It was from the Czech Republic . Karslovsky ( if I remember correctly ) Porcelain with Gold trim to boot . So what was Qing's Mom sticker doing on a Box from the Czech Rep . ??? I would think , that was some big goof-up by the Post Office here in Los Angeles . Sticker's on two Boxes came off for some reason and bingo clue / taped on the wrong Boxes . Now , Qing has no clothes and we have a 12 piece Dinner Set . I call it a fair trade in my Book . haha
But , we are honest and I will go to the Post Office on Sat. and see what they can do . I'm sure this China is missed by someone that spend a great deal of Money on it . Qing wants her clothes of course , but I guess .. if the clothes don't show up .. either will the China . We can always sell three - four Plates and buy Qing some clothes with it , if nobody shows up for it .

There is alway's the FIRST !

What I mean by that , is .. as much as a Couple is in Love .. this does happen to the best .
A Disagreement , our first . Not saying it was a bad one . But still , one that needed both our attention and patience to work it out .

Now , it started .. me making a Reservation in Monterey for our Anniversary coming up in early May . Which included a side-trip to San Francisco . All was fine and dandy , until last week . When Qing brought up that her School ( ESL ) classes are not over til the 20th of May . This would have meant , she would miss two night's ( classes ) with only four left in the year . She did not want to miss those of course .

So , now .. this is where I was being selfish and got pretty upset . Thinking , it was more important for her to not miss those two classes .. then our Anniversary . This left me staying up til after Midnight on the Computer . As Qing was wondering where I was , she came over into the other Room and ask when I'm coming to Bed . Bad me , I told her when I'm done here and that might take all night . Of course , this was a reason Qing could not go back to Bed herself and sleep . After some sweet talk , I did give in and went to Bed . Not to sleep , but to keep on with being Mad . No need to say , we both did not sleep well that night . As the morning came and I was to leave for Work , I must of had a pretty sad / unhappy Face on . One Qing will never forget , she says . As we parted with a half-ass Kiss from my end , I really felt like a Jerk driving to work . What is wrong with me ? I should have known , how important her School is to her . I could always cancel this Trip and re-arrange the week I'm off .

It so happened , that as Qing was sending me an apology to my Messenger Inbox , I about called her at the same time at Home on the Phone . She felt sooo sorry and thought it was all her fault , when in Fact .. I was the one acting like a Child that got a Toy taken away .
Not to worry , all is very well back to the Honeymoon again , with a Trip ( two day's planned to Las Vegas and to the Beach to visit Family and maybe San Diego too .

All that I know of the 24 Hour Rule of our Forum , this was NOT a time to use it . It goes back to the old saying .. never go to Bed angry . This is something I will definitely never forget .

April already and what has happened ???

So ... let's see ?

As the year speeds by and we find ourselves in Spring already , it's starting to really look like Spring all over .. including our Backyard too . Complete with the three Tomatoe plant's we bought last weekend . A request of my better half , so the Gentleman I am .. had to have some of course . I did warn Qing of all the Bug's and Pest's that can ruin your Pride and Joy later in no time at all . But , I think she'll be ready for any little gritter's getting even close .. leave alone to the Plant's .
Funny thing , she ask me HOW do I take ( like the Hornworm ) off the Plant ?? Do I use Chopstick's and then ... what ? I never even thought of that ! What I great idea ! Take them to the Trash-can and chop-chop into mince-meat with Scissors . Yeah .. take this you sucker !

The not so pleasant thing , is I had a mild Cold and now my Sweetheart has it . I must say , I do share everything with my LaoPo . haha
Today ( in the Morning ) I took half a day off and went with Qing to the DMV to make an Appointment for her Driving Test on the 21st of this Month . Of course it had to be the 21st , it's always one of our four number's for anything .. that has to do with number's . So two more weeks of Practise and the time of my Teaching Skills will be tested along with it . Would she forgive me , when she would fail ??? That is to be seen or heard either way . So please .. not only pray for her to pass , but also for me too .

Other things worth mentioning in the near Future is , our Anniversary coming up in the first week of May . My Sweetheart will get to Visit Carmel by the Sea , Monterey and San Francisco with Chinatown included of course .
